…was Colin Newman’s first. I’m still on a wire kick but this is the last you’ll hear about it. This album is interesting in terms of it’s progression, when considered to actually be the fourth Wire album. I’ve always thought that with every Wire album to the next, they seem to get slower and darker, which is one of my favorite things about them. A-Z keeps with the darker, moodier progression but actually picks up the pace from 154 and ads more Eno sounding synths and knob twisting. I think this album is totally killer and anyone who enjoys that Question of Degree/ Former airline should really check this out.
